By Kaivan Adjedani, Senior Editor. There are few places as intimate and personal as Parlour in Toronto. Holding a capacity of about 200 the semi-club/semi-lounge located on 270 Adelaide street is on the smaller side of the spectrum, though this has yet to be proven as a disadvantage to the club. Parlour takes full advantage of the cozy space by hosting intimate nights with internationally acclaimed artists often on the rise having hosted Behrouz, Yokoo, and upcoming essential mix hosts Bedouin. If an act is booked at Parlour chances are they’re the real deal. We suggest you take the opportunity to dance alongside them in a room of a hundred before they’re on an elevated stage in front of a thousand.
Next up to take the reigns at Parlour is Satori, playing a live set. Satori’s music is a blissful adventure through the pairing of enchanting vocals and bohemian melodies. His music is almost as much of a spiritual journey as it is a musical one, and his euphoric tracks have caught the ear of Lee Burridge who will be hosting him for his signature All Day I Dream party at ADE this year. Imagine a dim lit intimate space like Parlour hosted by a DJ known to play vibrant, haunting, romantic sets. This pairing brings out the best in both of them.
