Festival Preview: TIME Festival @ Fort York | August 15th, 2015

timefest Embrace’s annual TIME Festival returns this Saturday, August 15th to the Fort York Garrison Commons with a stacked line-up featuring artists Die Antwoord, Mac DeMarco, Ariel Pink, BADBADNOTGOOD, Freddie Gibbs, Ryan Hemsworth, DIIV, Alison Wonderland, Tory Lanez, Tommy Kruise, Lobby, and Elliott Vincent Jones. Covering all bases from indie rock, hip-hop, techno, to electro all on one main stage, TIME continues to bring an eclectic mix of musical talent and embrace music beyond today’s niche sub-genres by replacing this divide with an obscure and unique line-up.

This year’s line-up pushes the limits on obscurity with headlining act Die AntwoordThe South African rap-rave duo have managed to push all the boundaries with their perplex style of music, gothic-grunge appearance and violently exhilarating performances. Self-proclaimed “jizz jazz”/ indie rock artist Mac Demarco from British Columbia makes his TIME debut after a very successful year with the release of his album Salad Days. Young Indiana born rap artist Freddie Gibbs brings Toronto’s hip-hop kids out to Garrison Commons to: turn the f$%k up. Get your eclectic techno fix with Canadian producer/ Internet God Ryan Hemsworth, as he returns to TIME Festival for his second year in a row. Word on the street is that he’s also bringing in a special guest to the stage, and we can’t wait to spill who.
