The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have returned in full force with the recent announcement of a new album, single, and an extensive list of tour dates. It has been three years since their last record, Belong, was released, however the indie twee-pop group has perfectly captured the sound they’re known and loved for in latest single “Simple and Sure.”
Since the release of their 2009 self-titled debut, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have managed to hone their sound well. Their debut was memorable, as it presented plenty of shoegaze, twee-pop tracks reminiscent of artists such as Rocketship and My Bloody Valentine. Belong, their second LP, maintained that charm, yet was more bolder and polished.
We’re looking forward to The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s new album Days of Abandon, which will be released April 22.
