We might be still sad over the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman recently, but another unpleasant news has pretty much bombed the “8123 family” away last night. Alex Silverman, This Century‘s keyboardist has announced that he will be departing from the band for good. He will be sticking around to pursue a career in music production (… produce This Century‘s next album? I mean, who knows?). Statement from the band and Alex himself can be read below:

This Century has been not only a band, but a loving family for the past 7 years. Over that time, we’ve had the privilege of traveling around the world together and playing music for the most amazing of fans. As This Century’s journey continues into an exciting new chapter, we will be moving forward without Alex. Alex will be dedicating his time to life at home and his career in music production. While this has obviously been a tough time for everyone involved, we love and support Alex in everything he does. We are looking ahead positively to all of our futures and cannot thank our TC Family enough for their continued love and support!

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to reach out and let you all know how grateful i am for all of your love and support over the past seven years with This Century. I have had the privilege to travel across the world, and have met some of the most incredible people. They are memories i will truly never forget. Although i will not be moving forward with This Century, I will however continue to pursue music in other avenues. I hope to keep in touch with all of you and thank you so much again for an unforgettable life experience.
-Alex
