New supergroup Upset is pop punk bliss reminiscent of the’90s. Led by Ali Koehler (former drummer of Best Coast and Vivian Girls), Upset combines rough guitar melodies with honest lyrics. Koehler is joined by Patty Schemel (Hole) on drums and Jenn Price (La Sera) on guitar.
Although Upset’s debut, She’s Gone, is still on the horizon, the band has released three tracks that have garnered plenty of positive online buzz. The praise is definitely well deserved as “Oxfords and Wingtips,” “You and I,” and title track “She’s Gone” capture the essence of ‘90s alternative rock.
She’s Gone will be out October 29 via Don Giovanni Records.
