Did somebody just say All Time Low released a new song? With Vic Fuentes from Pierce the Veil? Yup, three days later and I can still definitely hear fan girls from both bands squirming through my screen.
This new tune featuring the vocals of the lead member of Pierce the Veil is called “A Love Like War.” Just like its title implies, it’s a song about the rough patches of a relationship. This hit has a fresh and interesting sound where All Time Low’s pop punk style is mixed, or tinted rather, with Fuentes’ post-hardcore sound. But to all diehard fans, don’t worry, this song still sounds very “All Time Low-esque” and the band hasn’t completely veered off into a different genre.
If you haven’t heard the song yet and are trying to search it up on YouTube, you’ll most likely land on their music video. This panoramic styled clip that they released along with the single consists of the group performing and watching some sappy black and white romantic film. The video is simple since it only alternates between those two scenes, but viewers are also able to keep their eyes peeled throughout the whole thing because of the “not so lovey dovey” film that’s playing in the background.
Overall, this song is fun and catchy to listen to. Three days later and I still haven’t gotten tired of it yet. This track is set to be featured on the re-release of the album, Don’t Panic, that will be available on September 30th, 2013.
