Four-piece ivy league graduates, Vampire Weekend, hit Toronto on May 16th at the Sony Centre with their new album Modern Vampires of the City that was released two days before the show.
The crowd arose from their seats once the band started to walk on stage, opening their set with “Cousin,” followed by “White Sky,” both from their second album Contra.
After heating up their set by playing songs off their first two albums, Vampire Weekend finally performed “Diane Young”. Both the band and the crowd were very energetic that night, especially their bassist Chris Baio, who moved around the stage with his famous dance moves.
Overall, their show was one of the best performances I’ve seen in my life. I really loved the transition between songs and while I expected them to play more new songs, I couldn’t say that I was disappointed!
